Eno River State Park

Riggs Ward Design created interactive and participatory exhibits for Eno River State Park that support a wide range of visitor interests and learning levels. Designed to let guests set their own pace, whether skimming headlines or diving deep, the experience encourages exploration of the river’s rich history and natural complexity.

A key design goal was to spark a sense of wonder and draw visitors into the outdoor world. The updated visitor center blurs the boundary between interior and exterior, emphasizing the interconnected relationships among flora, fauna, soil, water, and air. By inspiring curiosity and strengthening understanding of the ecosystem, the exhibits invite visitors to become active stewards of the park, balancing recreation with conservation.
