Riggs Ward Design created an immersive Revolutionary War exhibit for the Great Bridge Battlefield Foundation, blending period environments, interactive media, and hands-on features to engage visitors of all ages. Early in the project, RWD also developed branding and fundraising materials to help the foundation secure grants and donations, supporting the exhibit’s development and broader mission.

The exhibit transports guests to the 18th century, with era-appropriate settings such as a recreated colonial pub and other immersive spaces that reflect daily life during the Revolutionary era. The orientation space introduces the Great Bridge Battlefield and adjacent historic site before guiding visitors through galleries that explore the local landscape, political and cultural tensions, and routes to Great Bridge.

Subsequent galleries focus on the buildup to the battle, the engagement itself, and its aftermath, including the destruction of Norfolk and the significance of the Patriot victory. Interactive media and tactile elements allow visitors to experience history firsthand, combining immersive storytelling with hands-on exploration to bring the Revolutionary War to life in a compelling and educational way.
