RWD’s exhibits at Three Lakes Park & Nature Center provide hands-on learning opportunities and a deep dive into Henrico County’s rich ecology. The Nature Center educates visitors about the many species of plants and animals around the park and demonstrates the natural harmony of air, land, and water.

A mixture of live animals and interactive exhibits help visitors to connect with the environment they are exploring while examining changes from the prehistoric era to today. The design of the space echoes the park’s environment through a large rock wall studded with aquariums. A small, enclosed cabinet of curiosities style area displays everything from tools to fossils to mounted taxidermy, transforming the space into a late 19th- or early 20th-century naturalist’s office.
